Light in the Light!

Light in the Light!
Some projects let light lead the way. This collaboration with Emily Tucker Design was built on a simple premise: the interiors should feel as bright and open as the Colorado sky outside.
The Designer's Vision
Emily Tucker's design direction for this Denver residence prioritized natural light, organic textures, and a palette that felt like an extension of the landscape. The rooms were intentionally uncluttered, with furnishings and finishes selected for their warmth and authenticity rather than their visual weight.
The window treatments needed to honor that lightness. Heavy drapery would have contradicted the design intent. Blackout products would have closed the rooms off from their most important asset. The specification called for treatments that filtered light gently while adding the natural texture the interiors craved.
The Product
Woven window shades by Alta were the perfect fit. The shades' natural fiber weave introduced organic texture at the window without visual heaviness. When lowered, the shades filtered sunlight into warm, dappled patterns that shifted throughout the day. When raised, they stacked into a compact bundle that left the window completely open.
The Alta woven shades were specified with a light-filtering liner that provided privacy while maintaining the gentle light transmission the design required. The liner sat behind the natural weave, invisible from the room side, preserving the organic appearance of the shade while adding functional performance.
The Collaboration
Working with Emily Tucker Design is a recurring privilege for the Blinds Couture team. Emily's ability to mix scale, color, and pattern with restraint and intention produces interiors that are both beautiful and comfortable. Our role is to translate her design vision into window treatments that perform flawlessly and look exactly as she intended.
This project is one of our favorites because it demonstrates a principle we believe deeply: sometimes the most sophisticated window treatment is the one that lets the light in.
