Brightly Boulder

Brightly Boulder
Boulder lives at the intersection of mountain and modern. Its homes reflect that duality: clean architectural lines that honor contemporary design, paired with natural materials and warm finishes that connect to the landscape. This project embodied that intersection perfectly.
The Design Challenge
The home's interiors were defined by clean lines, modern detail, and warm touches. The window treatment plan needed to serve multiple functions across different rooms while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic throughout the home. Large windows with expansive views demanded treatments that managed Colorado's intense light without blocking the scenery. Bedrooms required darkness. Living spaces required versatility.
The Solution
Blinds Couture specified a layered system anchored by motorized shades from Hunter Douglas. The motorized roller shades provided automated light and privacy control across the home's primary windows, integrating with the homeowner's smart-home system for scheduled operation and scene-based control.
Pinch pleat curtains in warm, textured fabrics added the softness and visual warmth that the modern architecture needed. The structured pleat headers created clean vertical folds that complemented the home's linear design language. Fabrics were selected in warm neutrals that related to the natural wood tones and stone finishes throughout the home.
Roman shades in secondary rooms provided tailored, fabric-forward coverage where drapery was not practical. The relaxed roman style added a gentle curve that softened the rooms without competing with the architecture.
The Boulder Factor
Working in Boulder means accounting for altitude, UV intensity, and temperature extremes that exceed even Denver's conditions. Every fabric selection and lining specification was made with Boulder's environment in mind. Motorized operation eliminated the daily manual adjustment that Boulder's shifting light would otherwise require.
The finished project delivers bright, warm interiors that celebrate Boulder's remarkable natural light while giving the homeowner complete control over how that light enters every room.
