Celebrating Women

Celebrating Women
The interior design industry is shaped by women. Women lead the studios. Women manage the projects. Women make the material selections, coordinate the trades, and deliver the finished spaces that families live in every day. And yet, the industry's supply chain, its fabrication facilities, its installation crews, and its leadership structures have historically underrepresented the very people who drive its creative vision.
Blinds Couture exists as proof that this imbalance is not inevitable. Founded and led by Jessica Work, the company operates with a team that is majority-women at every level: design, administration, project management, and leadership. The quality of the work speaks for itself. The composition of the team speaks to something larger.
Women Leading at Blinds Couture
The Blinds Couture design team is composed of experienced women who bring diverse backgrounds in interior design, architecture, textiles, and client service to every consultation. They are not order-takers. They are design professionals who listen to the client's vision, apply their expertise to the specific conditions of the home, and deliver recommendations that are informed, creative, and technically sound.
The administrative and project management team coordinates the complex logistics of custom fabrication, vendor management, and installation scheduling. Every project runs on their organizational skill and attention to detail. Every satisfied client owes part of that satisfaction to the behind-the-scenes work of women who make sure no detail is missed.
At Roseworks Fabrication, the workroom team includes skilled seamstresses whose craftsmanship defines the quality of every custom drapery panel that leaves the facility. Their hands cut, sew, line, and press the panels that transform Denver's finest homes. This is skilled trade work, and the women who do it are artisans.
The Network of Women Around Every Home
If you need something done in your home, chances are a woman in our professional network has the expertise to do it exceptionally well. Interior designers. Painters. Organizers. Real estate professionals. Architects. Blinds Couture's referral network includes women-led and women-staffed businesses across the Denver metro area.
Supporting women-owned and women-led businesses creates a virtuous cycle. It strengthens the local economy, provides role models for the next generation of women in design and the trades, and delivers the kind of personal, invested service that large corporate operations rarely match.
Why Representation Matters in Design
When a woman homeowner sits down with a woman design consultant to discuss her bedroom window treatments, there is an understanding that goes beyond product knowledge. There is a shared vocabulary around comfort, safety, privacy, and beauty. There is an intuitive grasp of how a nursery should feel, how a home office should function, how a primary suite should support rest.
This is not to say that men cannot provide excellent design consultation. It is to say that representation in the design process matters, and that Blinds Couture's women-led team offers a perspective that resonates with the majority of the homeowners who hire us.
Moving the Industry Forward
Celebrating women is not a one-day event. It is a daily practice embedded in how Blinds Couture operates. Hiring women. Promoting women. Compensating women fairly. Providing professional development. Creating a workplace where women's expertise is valued and their growth is supported.
Jessica Work built Blinds Couture on these principles. The certification and the awards are recognition of what the work already demonstrates every day.
