    Glorious Greens

Color in window treatments is an act of confidence. It requires a designer who understands proportion, a homeowner who trusts the vision, and a fabrication partner who can translate a swatch into a finished product that sings exactly the way the designer intended. This Boulder project had all three.

    The Designer

Emily Tucker Design operates with a philosophy that interiors should reflect the personality of the people living in them. Emily does not default to safe neutrals. She reads her clients, understands what excites them, and designs spaces where color, pattern, and scale come together with the kind of precision that makes bold choices feel inevitable rather than risky.

For this Boulder residence, Emily's palette leaned into rich, saturated greens paired with warm woods, natural textures, and strategic pops of pattern. The result was interiors that felt alive, playful, and deeply personal.

    The Blinds Couture Contribution

Blinds Couture sourced the fabrics that took Emily's design story to new heights. The fabric selection process was collaborative: Emily identified the visual direction, and the Blinds Couture team presented materials from our library that matched the weight, texture, and color saturation her designs required.

The standout treatments in this project were the pinch pleat cafe curtains in the kitchen and bathroom. Cafe curtains cover the lower half of the window, providing privacy at eye level while leaving the upper portion open for light and sky views. In this project, the cafe curtains were fabricated in a bold, playful fabric that introduced color and pattern at an unexpected scale. The pinch pleat header gave the curtains a structured, polished appearance that elevated them from casual to intentional.

Full-length drapery panels in the living areas carried the color story to its full expression. The fabrics were chosen to complement the cafe curtains without matching them exactly, creating a conversation between rooms rather than a repetitive echo.

    The Fabrication

Every panel and curtain was custom fabricated at Roseworks Fabrication in Westminster. The cafe curtains required precise measurement to sit at exactly the right height on the window, covering the lower sightline while leaving the upper portion clear. The pinch pleats were hand-constructed to maintain consistent spacing and fold depth across every panel.

The installation team hung, steamed, and trained each treatment to ensure the fabric fell exactly as intended. Cafe curtains are deceptively demanding: because they are short, any imperfection in the hang is immediately visible. The Roseworks fabrication quality and the Blinds Couture installation precision ensured that every curtain sat perfectly from the first day.

    Why This Project Matters

This project demonstrates something important about custom window treatments: they do not have to be neutral to be sophisticated. In the right hands, color and pattern in drapery and curtains elevate a room in ways that neutral treatments cannot. Emily Tucker's design instincts combined with Blinds Couture's fabrication and sourcing capabilities produced interiors that are joyful, confident, and unmistakably designed.
