Make The Most Of The Changing Seasons

Break out your warm blankets and make yourself a nice hot cup of mulled cider, Fall is here!

As we prepare for the shorter days and cooler weather, making sure our home and yard are ready is vital. Here are some ideas to help you make it through the long nights ahead of us.

outdoor areas

Prepare your outdoor areas

Get your sprinklers blown out before the first hard frost to avoid costly repairs in the spring. Now is a good time to call in an aeration service company to take care of your lawn. Store your outdoor furniture in a weatherproof box or cover.

service companies

Call in service companies

Start fall with a fresh, clean home by calling in a neighborhood carpet cleaning company like Dream Catcher Carpet Cleaning to deep clean your rugs, upholstery, and mattresses. Your furnace is essential as the days grow colder. Call in the local HVAC services of True Heating and Cooling, to check your filters and make sure it's in good working order.

Create a cozy home

Somebody should weatherproof your windows and doors. For your doors, this means making sure you replace your old weather stripping and threshold if they allow air into your home. As far as your windows are concerned, you have several options, including energy-efficient window treatments and heavier drapery for the cold weather.

In late 2022, the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission announced it that, for reasons of safety, corded window coverings could longer be manufactured in the United States, beginning in June 2024. The window coverings industry and consumer demand has been slowly progressing in this direction since the early 2000s, with the advent of cordless blinds, motorized window coverings and smart home technology. With the 2022 announcement, this necessity for progress has dramatically accelerated, and manufacturers are sprinting to catch up.
